This classic-meets-modern beach house was one of the first to be built on Rockaway Beach over a century ago, and also includes a new, luxurious "west wing," complete with a spectacular gourmet kitchen and countless modern amenities---from a 75" SmartTV to tablet-controlled mood lighting.
Hidden Gem is directly oceanfront, with walls of windows for extraordinary sea views and low-bank access to 7 miles of pristine coastline.
Sit on the second-floor deck with a glass of wine and watch the kids build sandcastles in the sandy, fenced-in yard. Dig into a fresh seafood feast at the picnic table. Stroll the uncrowded beach in the morning with a mug of coffee from the Keurig.
Luxury in The West Wing
Hidden Gem has belonged to the same family for 50 years, and its current owner spent many summers here, so its recent restoration and addition were done with love!
In the newer section of the house, find a massive master suite (downstairs) with a king bed, soaking tub, and gorgeous walk-in shower.
Two more downstairs bedrooms both have king beds and share a bathroom, which has a tub/shower combo and a large capacity washer/dryer (one of two washer/dryers in the house). Tip: one of these two bedrooms has a wall of windows and a stunning ocean view. Grab it first!
Upstairs you'll also find the open-concept Great Room and an incredible foodie-approved kitchen, which is fully equipped and is stocked to the nines, from a Ninja blender to a wine fridge.
Sliding glass doors in this space open to the deck, where Adirondack chairs are waiting for you to settle in with a good book. Or just sit and look at the sea and Twin Rocks in the distance!
Classic Fun in the East Wing
The owner first intended to tear down this section of the home, but decided to keep it a little longer and welcome guests instead. Stay in a little slice of Rockaway Beach history while it's still here!
This section of the house has a nostalgic beach cottage feel, with wood-paneled walls, concrete floors and a laundry room/"mudroom" where you can shake off the sand after a day at the beach. Two plush leather sofas sit in front of a 65" Smart TV. Mix a drink from the wet bar, or grab a soda from the fridge and relax.
Two bedrooms in this section of the house both have queen beds and share a bathroom with a tub/shower combo.
A great spot for the kids and teens to hang out!
