First Home: River House
Welcome to River House! Follow a one-mile-long private driveway through groves of Walnut and alongside the Corlear Creek to reach this expansive estate. Upon entry, you'll find 19th-century oak floors, antique brick from the old Athens brickyard, floor-to-ceiling windows, and huge dining and living rooms designed for large, cheerful gatherings. The corner game room invites your group to gather around the pool table and cozy up by the brick fireplace. When it's time to unwind, head to the master bathroom, where a freestanding bathtub overlooking the water showcases the best views in the house. Outside, a river-side pool and a great lawn leading directly to the sandy beach on the Hudson give you plenty of opportunities to spend your days in the sun. Enjoy!
Second Home: River Lodge
Welcome to The River Lodge! A winding driveway through a covered bridge over Corlear Creek leads to this immaculate, hill-top home. Built with local stone in the late 1890s, the lodge sits just feet from the Hudson River with views of the water in every room. A vintage sunlit country kitchen, two-story rustic library, dining room with exposed brick, and sprawling light-filled common room allows rivers views from all three sides. There are three primary bedrooms, with six smaller rooms originally designed as actors' quarters for Shakespeare on the Hudson productions. Spend your days in the pool, hot tub, and on the river for an unbeatable experience so close to the water that at times you can hear it. Enjoy!
Home Truths:
•Railings on the second-floor exterior decks are open. They have large gaps with no upright balusters.
•This home does not offer pool heat.
•Kayaks are not supplied at this property,
•the basement is not accessible to guests.
•This home is a historic home and therefore the flooring may be uneven in some places, and there is a spiral stair inside.
•Third-floor catwalk has large openings in rails
•The spiral staircase to the fourth floor has balusters of more than 4"
•A pack-n-play and highchair are provided at this home.
•Please note our occupancy includes an additional two beyond bed count. Trifold floor mattresses and additional linens can be provided upon request.
•Guests may not use the entrance on Hamburg Rd under any circumstances except emergencies.
