There are no bridges to Keewaydin Island and no roads once you arrive. You come by boat, step onto the dock, and the mainland falls away behind you. Keelanie sits in a rare spot on this protected barrier island, with the white sand of the Gulf of Mexico on one side and a calm, quiet channel on the other. It is a home built for staying a while, long enough for the days to find their own rhythm.

A private elevator brings you up to the main living level, where everything happens on one floor. Whitewashed beams run across high ceilings, dark-framed windows open to water views in nearly every direction, and the living room flows easily into a lounge area and indoor dining space. Built-in shelving, soft coastal textures, and a gas fireplace give the room a settled, lived-in warmth. With about 3,600 square feet inside, there is space for everyone to spread out without ever feeling far apart.

The chef's kitchen is made for cooking real meals over a long stay. A Thermador gas range with an integrated griddle and Thermador refrigeration anchor the space, with a large island for prep and casual seating. A butler's pantry keeps the counters clear, and a beverage bar with its own refrigerators, multiple ice makers, a dishwasher, and a microwave cover the everyday details. A pass-through window opens straight onto the lanai, so dinner can go from stove to table outside without a second trip. Inside, the dining table seats 6.

Nearly 3,000 square feet of wraparound decks carry the home outward toward the water. The Gulf-facing side is where afternoons stretch out and evenings end with the sun dropping into the sea. There is an outdoor dining area beside the grill, several deck and patio seating areas, and a gas fire pit ringed with generous seating for long conversations after dark. The enclosed, screened lanai is the sheltered spot for slow mornings and hanging-chair reading, and two outdoor showers rinse off the sand on the way in from the beach.

Keelanie sleeps 12 across five bedrooms. The primary suite and three more bedrooms each have a king bed, dressed in light, easy coastal palettes with the island visible through the windows. The fifth is a bunk room with two full-over-full bunk beds that kids tend to claim first. Three full bathrooms, one with a freestanding soaking tub, and two half bathrooms keep mornings moving.

Then there is the water. On the Gulf side, private beach access opens onto white sand made for shelling, swimming, and long walks. On the channel side, the private dock is where island days begin and end. A dedicated slip and a 10,000-pound boat lift keep your boat ready, while dockside electrical power and a freshwater wash-down connection handle the practical side of boating somewhere this remote. The nearby boat and generator shed holds a large-capacity ice maker for filling coolers before heading out.

Much of Keewaydin is protected within the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, so the beaches stay quiet and dolphins, shorebirds, and nesting sea turtles are part of the scenery. Gordon Pass at the island's north end opens onto Naples Bay, putting the restaurants and boutiques of Old Naples, Fifth Avenue South, and Third Street South within easy reach by boat and a short drive. Head south and Marco Island's beaches, Rookery Bay's environmental learning center, and the mangrove channels of the Ten Thousand Islands make easy days on the water.

Keelanie is accessible only by boat, and guests coordinate transportation and arrival arrangements with our team before their stay. Boat rentals, charters, and excursions are not included unless stated in the reservation, and use of the boat lift and boating facilities requires advance approval. Stays are 7 nights or longer, with monthly stays available for families, couples, and anyone looking for a seasonal home on the Gulf. Give it a few days to arrive. The days after are for exhaling.
