Need more space? The home is one of 7 similar units in a building complex at Prospect. Photos feature our layout and furnishings, specific designs may vary.
Prospect Street is where La Jolla does its best people-watching --- galleries, boutiques, and sidewalk tables strung along a bluff that drops straight into the Pacific. Seashore IV sits right in the middle of it, a one-bedroom condo with the bright, breezy interior Southern California does so well: soft coastal tones, clean modern lines, and enough natural light that you'll want to leave the shades up all day.
The living space keeps things easy. A deep sofa and TV make a strong case for an early night in after too much sun, and it folds out when a third person joins. The bedroom is the payoff --- a king bed, and the kind of quiet that lets a full beach day catch up with you all at once.
What you're really booking here is the walk. La Jolla Cove is about a quarter mile down the street, close enough that you can be watching sea lions haul out on the rocks a few minutes after you close the door behind you. Ellen Browning Scripps Park spreads across the bluff above it with wide lawns, picnic tables, and one of the better sunset perches in San Diego, and the protected water below draws snorkelers, swimmers, and kayakers year-round. Follow the coast path a little further and you'll hit the Children's Pool and its resident harbor seals.
Everything else is on foot, too. Prospect Street and the blocks behind it hold the galleries, boutiques, and jewelers the village is known for, plus a dense run of restaurants --- Hawaiian, Italian, Mediterranean, casual seafood --- many of them with ocean views. La Jolla Shores, about a mile and a half north, trades the rocky cove for a wide flat beach better suited to swimming, surf lessons, and paddleboarding, with Birch Aquarium up the hill from the sand. Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is roughly fifteen minutes north for clifftop hiking above the water, and if someone in the group wants a boardwalk and a wooden roller coaster, Belmont Park in Mission Beach is an easy twenty-minute drive south.
For two --- or three, with the sofa in play --- it's a small footprint in a neighborhood that does most of the work for you.
