The Grove at Mutiny Bay is designed for easy Whidbey days---a mid‑century cabin just a quick walk through the neighborhood to the beach. This bright island retreat highlights its architectural character with wide windows, warm wood ceilings, and a seamless connection to the outdoors. Guests can move effortlessly between morning coffee on the deck, shoreline strolls, pool time, and friendly pickleball matches at the community court.
Inside, the home feels airy and relaxed, with vaulted ceilings, a wall of windows, and natural light that pulls the outdoors right into the main living space. The living room, dining area, and kitchen flow together for easy group time, with a breakfast and game table adding a casual spot for cards, coffee, or a quiet laptop session. The kitchen is set up for simple meals between beach walks and island outings, while the deck gives you outdoor seating, a BBQ grill, and a front-row place to watch the light move across the water and trees.
The sleeping layout works well for small groups or families who want flexibility. The lower level has a fully enclosed primary bedroom that features a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a tub. Additionally, there is a twin daybed that is situated in a nook off of the living room. Upstairs in the loft, there are two separate sleeping spaces. A queen bed, desk and bathroom with shower stall on one side and a full-sized daybed, console and TV on the other.
Please note: The primary bedroom is the only fully enclosed bedroom with a door. All other sleeping areas, including the loft, are open-concept and do not have doors or private separation.
Outside is where the island rhythm really comes together. Start the morning with breakfast on the deck, head out at low tide to explore nearby tide pools, then spend the afternoon at the community beach or by the pool. When the group wants a little friendly competition, the shared community court makes it easy to fit in a game of pickleball or tennis before dinner. After a full day out, fire up the BBQ grill for an easy meal on the deck, then head to the communal fire pit as evening settles in and end the night under the Whidbey sky.
The Grove at Mutiny Bay location keeps Freeland and South Whidbey within easy reach. Spend the day exploring nearby beaches, heading to Double Bluff for a long shoreline walk, or visiting Langley for galleries, bakeries, restaurants, and small-town waterfront charm. Greenbank Farm, Meerkerk Gardens, local markets, and the Clinton ferry are all close enough for easy day plans, while the home gives you a quiet, view-filled place to return to when the island day winds down.
