A Peaceful Paradise

The best room in this house doesn't have walls. Out past the sliders, a screened lanai runs the width of the home under a warm wood-plank ceiling --- deep lounge seating at one end, a long dining table at the other, lanterns strung overhead, and the pool holding the middle. Brick pavers wrap the whole thing, so there's shade when you want it and full Florida sun when you don't.

That lanai is where most of a stay here happens. The outdoor kitchen has a built-in gas grill and a full tool set, which means dinner rarely needs to move indoors. The fire table takes over once the light goes, and the screen enclosure means you can sit out until midnight without swatting at anything. On a half-acre lot with mature landscaping on every side, the only soundtrack is whatever you put on.

Inside, A Peaceful Paradise opens up rather than closes in. Vaulted and tray ceilings lift the main living space, arched doorways connect one room to the next, and sliders along the back keep the pool in view from the sofa, the island, and the dining table. The living room is built for sprawling --- a big sectional, a TV, room for everyone. The kitchen behind it does real work: granite counters, a full range under a hood, an island with stools for morning coffee, and a properly stocked set of pots, pans, skillets, mixing bowls, and small appliances, right down to a blender, toaster, kettle, and pod coffee maker. The dining room seats six with windows on three sides.

Four bedrooms sleep eight. Two are kings with private ensuite baths, one of them with a double vanity and a glass walk-in shower. The other two --- a king and a queen --- share a third full bath. A dedicated laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer makes longer stays easy, and the games shelf covers the rainy hour Southwest Florida occasionally insists on: Monopoly, a puzzle, Incohearent, Poetry for Neanderthals, and a deck of cards.

The location is the quiet trade nobody regrets. This pocket of Naples sits inland from the beach crowds on a residential lane of half-acre lots, but everything is a short drive. Groceries and casual restaurants along Radio Road are under ten minutes out. 5th Avenue South and the waterfront shops at Tin City run about fifteen, and the sand at Lowdermilk Park or Clam Pass is roughly twenty. Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens and Naples Botanical Garden each make an easy afternoon, Sugden Regional Park's lake and trails sit just south, and East Naples Community Park pulls pickleball players from across the region. Head south and Marco Island's beaches are about half an hour. Head east and airboat country at the edge of the Everglades opens up in roughly the same. Southwest Florida International is a straightforward forty-minute run when it's time to go home.
