Every AvantStay property is professionally inspected and hotel-clean before you arrive. What you see in the listing is exactly what you get, backed by 24/7 support throughout your stay.
Big Bear's mountain scenery and outdoor recreation — skiing and lake activities — make it a natural gathering point for large groups. Whether it's winter skiing or summer hiking, the landscape provides a shared experience and gives groups a built-in daily rhythm. A large mountain home becomes the comfortable hub for it all. Groups prefer staying in one home in Big Bear over booking multiple hotel rooms because they stay connected, cook together, share common spaces, and often cut nightly costs in half. That single home becomes the heart of the trip rather than just a place to sleep.
Had a wonderful stay at this large pet friendly family home. The house is three levels with bedrooms on the first two lower levels. The house is spacious and had two comfy large living rooms with very nice large tv screens which made it nice to gather all of us together. Our stay was in Early April and though there was no snow it was still cold out and therefore we loved that the house still had a Christmas tree up as we love being there during the holiday season so it was a nice treat! The family loved going to a nearby ski resort and coming home to relax in the huge backyard jacuzzi surrounded by trees. The backyard scenery was absolutely breathtaking and was worth the price for the rental. The house has its own deck to the water which made it nice to stroll with our dog for a early and late night walk. The house is also walking distance to a nearby boat rental company. Due to our short stay we did not have the opportunity to rent any pontoon boats yet would have been due to the convenience of its location. The kitchen was spacious and was nice for preparing breakfast and dinners and the backyard was nice and had a very clean barbecue. There was ample parking at the house which made it nice unlike other rentals. Each room was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. We feel blessed to have been able to stay at this property with plenty of bedroom space and was appreciative that it was also a pet friendly home. The house is also located close to nearby shops, bars, and delicious restaurants. The property management personnel were very helpful and always responded very kindly to emails and text messages. When we checked out of the property one of our guests left their cellphone behind accidentally and the staff were quick to go to the property and look for it and retrieve it for us. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return again one day during the summer and winter months!
We had an amazing time at lazy bear lodge especially with all the snow! AvantStay was great in communicating with us regarding the snow conditions and had the driveway and path to front door plowed for us to park before we arrived. We had to shovel any other areas like the back patio but that was no issue at all. We were able to create our own sledding hill in the back with all the snow (over 4 feet piled high around the house).
The house was great for the kids (7 mos, 2 yrs and 2.5 yrs) and all of us adults. The rooms were spacious and had plenty of pillows and blankets stocked and ready to go. The open floor plan was great for the family to cook, eat, and play in. The playroom in the back was wonderful with the pool table, Pac-Man arcade game and even an assortment of toddler/kid toys that were a huge hit. There was a drip and Keurig coffee machine along with a variety of pots, pans, and any utensils you might need for cooking.
We will definitely be bringing the family back to lazy bear lodge in future summer trips and winter trips.
Location in town was great as well, less than 5 minutes from anything you would need.
We stayed here as a large group, and the house was absolutely perfect for that. There was plenty of space for everyone to feel comfortable, relax, and still have privacy when needed. The common areas were ideal for spending time together, laughing, and creating unforgettable memories.
We were also incredibly grateful that our dog was allowed — it made the trip even more special for us. Having a pet-friendly home in such a beautiful location is a huge plus, and everything was very convenient and comfortable for traveling with a dog 🐾
The location is peaceful and surrounded by nature, with beautiful views, yet still close to everything Big Bear has to offer. The house was very clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy, calm, and welcoming.
The host was wonderful — responsive, kind, and easy to communicate with, which made the entire stay smooth and stress-free.
We truly loved our stay and would
