Long Pond puts you a few minutes from Pocono Raceway, which means a NASCAR weekend is a short hop rather than a two-hour crawl, and the rest of the Poconos fans out from there. Camelback Mountain is close for skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing in winter, then swaps over to the waterpark, mountain coaster, and treetop adventure course once it warms up. Kalahari's indoor waterpark is a similar distance for rainy days and younger kids, and Jack Frost Big Boulder adds two more mountains and a tubing hill a short drive west. Big Pocono State Park crowns the ridge with hiking trails and a lookout that reaches across three states on a clear day, while Hickory Run's boulder field and the lake and beach at Tobyhanna State Park fill out the warm months. Pocono Premium Outlets in Tannersville is there for the afternoon someone declares a shopping run.
