Main Street is a short walk down the road, Deer Valley is a few minutes the other way, and Alpine Ridge Lodge sits right in between, a stone-and-timber home stacked across four levels on a hillside above Old Town. An elevator links the floors, so bags, gear, and grandparents all get where they're going without a fuss. With room for up to 13 guests, it suits families and friend groups who want the mountain and the town without having to choose.

The main living area is where everyone ends up. A stone fireplace anchors the great room, tall windows pull in the hillside, and the chef's kitchen keeps whoever is cooking part of the conversation, with granite counters, a big island, and stainless appliances. Dinner happens around a table for eight. When the day calls for an early breakfast before first chair or a second round of snacks after the lifts close, a secondary kitchen takes the pressure off the main one.

The lounge is the late-night room. There's a deep sectional, a big screen for movie night, and a pool table for settling whatever the group was arguing about on the chairlift.

Recovery is built in. Warm up in the cedar sauna, then step outside to the hot tub, where the hills turn gold at sunset. The BBQ is out there too, ready for burgers after a long day.

Bedrooms are spread across all four floors, which gives everyone a little space of their own. On the entry level, a queen bedroom connects to a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. The primary suite has the second floor to itself, with a king bed and a private ensuite. The third floor works well for mixed ages: a bunk room with a twin-over-twin and a twin trundle for the kids, a king suite with its own bathroom, and a hall bathroom close by. Up top, the fourth-floor king suite adds a full-size pull-out and an ensuite, a good fit for a family of four or a couple who wants the quietest spot in the house. Seven bathrooms in all means nobody spends the morning waiting in line.

Location is what makes this part of Park City so easy. Historic Main Street, with its galleries, restaurants, the Egyptian Theatre, and the Park City Museum, is roughly a 10-minute walk. Deer Valley's Snow Park base is just up the road, and Park City Mountain's Town Lift is a short hop past Main, so ski days can start at either resort. Park City's free buses make it simple to leave the car parked for the day. In summer, the same spot puts you close to lift-served mountain biking and hiking at Deer Valley, outdoor concerts, and trails that start right from town.
