Four and a half flat, open acres surround D&S Prestige Estate, and that space sets the tone for the whole stay. Kids can run until they tire themselves out, adults can settle onto the patio with a coffee, and at night the quiet out here is the kind you actually notice. This center hall colonial in Bangor was remodeled with a clean, modern look, and it sits right at the gateway to the Poconos, so ski slopes, water parks, and the Delaware River are all an easy drive away.
Inside, the layout makes room for everyone. Two separate living rooms are a real help when the kids want a movie and the grown-ups want a conversation. The main living room centers on a faux stone fireplace with a 65" smart TV above it and a wraparound L-shaped sectional below, and it opens to a bright sitting room that shares the view of the screen. Past the kitchen, the second living room rises to 18-foot vaulted ceilings, with a comfortable couch and a rocking chair that tends to get claimed early.
The formal dining room seats eight and sits right beside the kitchen, so family dinners come together without much back and forth. The kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery, glassware, and dishes, along with a four-burner electric stove, an overhead microwave, a double oven, and a Samsung fridge with ice and water in the door. A full bathroom with a walk-in shower rounds out the main floor.
Downstairs, the finished lower level gives the group another place to spread out, with ping pong, foosball, and a TV lounge, plus a half bath so no one has to run upstairs mid-game.
Upstairs, each of the five bedrooms has its own color story. Four queen rooms in peach, black and white, yellow, and blue face each other along the hallway, with a full bathroom and tub between them. At the end of the hall, the primary suite has a king bed and a private bathroom with a jetted tub and a walk-in shower.
Slide open the door off the kitchen and main living room and you're on the covered patio. Wraparound couches surround a dining table, a bistro set offers a quieter spot for two, and a Weber gas grill stands ready, so dinner happens rain or shine with the backyard stretched out in front of you. The yard includes a children's playground, and just off the side of the house, a fire pit with comfortable seating is where most evenings end, under a sky full of stars.
Bangor sits in Pennsylvania's Slate Belt, right where the Poconos begin. The Delaware River is about 10 minutes away for summer tubing and paddling. Stroudsburg and Easton are each about 20 minutes out, both with good restaurants and a lively evening scene. Camelback is about half an hour away for skiing and snow tubing, and Great Wolf Lodge and Kalahari make an indoor water park day possible any time of year. The Crayola Experience and The Crossings Premium Outlets are easy outings too.
