I recently had the pleasure of staying at an incredible Vrbo rental located right on the beach, and I can't say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
Location: The home is situated in a prime location with direct beach access. Waking up to the sound of waves and stepping out onto the sand was a dream come true. It's close enough to local shops and restaurants for convenience but far enough to provide a peaceful retreat.
Accommodation: The house itself is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. The decor is stylish yet comfortable, making it feel like a true home away from home. We were a group of six, and there was ample space for everyone. The kitchen was fully equipped, which made it easy to prepare meals, and we enjoyed dining on the spacious deck overlooking the ocean.
Amenities: This rental had everything we needed and more. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, and there were plenty of board games and books for our downtime. The outdoor shower was a nice touch, especially after a day at the beach. The provided beach chairs and umbrellas were also a big plus.
Host: Our host was incredibly responsive and helpful, providing clear instructions for check-in and offering great local tips. They genuinely cared about our experience and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay.
Great location right by the beach. Modern and clean home. Perfect for our group of 7. We especially appreciated the space for sitting at the dining room for games and meals, the living room to enjoy watching a show and the upstairs balcony space for meals and visiting. Their communication was wonderful. They got back to me super quick on everything. They were kind enough to extend checkout since no one was coming that evening. Be aware that access to the upper deck is via one of the bedrooms. Not a big deal for us knowing ahead of time so we put the people in those rooms that worked with the traffic. You are right by the Newport Beach pier and Blackies by the sea - the original hot spot for surfing, kind of fun trivia. Walking distance to many family restaurants like The Crab Cooker and The Good Ol' Spaghetti Factory. Bike and other rentals right next door.
We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in Dana Point! It truly felt like a 5-star experience.. the view alone makes it unforgettable. You’re literally right on the water, and you just can’t beat waking up to that. The outdoor patio is thoughtfully set up so you can comfortably enjoy the beach at any time of day.
The house worked perfectly for our group of 10, with plenty of space and comfortable rooms. The only small challenges were the 2-car parking limit and the beach itself, which is rocky. If you’re not a strong swimmer, it can be a bit tricky, and I definitely recommend wearing water shoes to protect against the rocks that can get kicked up.
That said, neither of these are within the owners’ control, and everything else was a 10/10! We’re already looking forward to renting this home again next year. Highly recommend!
