The home was beautiful, clean and comfortable. A very old property - very quirky. The only drawback was that there really was one good modern shower/bathroom for such a large group. The upstairs bathroom had a bath more suited for a leisurely soak (not a good shower) and none of the bathrooms had a working locks so we had to be inventive about keeping it private. However the kitchen was awesome, the bedrooms were mostly large and all SO comfortable and clean. Excellently stocked and super laundry facilities too (used to scant supplies in Orlando). The grounds and location are magnificent- breathtaking scenery everywhere, with old town charm and friendly locals. We would recommend the home and area VERY highly - we spent 8 wonderful nights during an Indian summer in September, just getting lost on stunning drives and long walks around local parks and trails (countless choices). The grocery stores were another level - delish organic local produce! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
This home was lovely for a long weekend with 11 family members. The kids had so much fun in the pool. The adults had numerous places to lounge and chat and relax. I really loved that the Tv room was separate from the living room and atrium because kids were able to watch a little tv while adults conversed without disruption. The back porch is huge and the lawn and view are beautiful. It was accurately described, and we were glad to know in advance that only half the house is air-conditioned. The kitchen is quite small for the size of the house but we hired a private chef one night and she had no trouble cooking for all of us. The house is laid out in an odd way, and you have to pass through 2 bedrooms to get to the other side of the house, but we weren’t using all the bedrooms so it wasn’t a problem, just notable that there’s no hallway across the second floor. All in all, a great place for our weekend in the Berkshires. Also, AvantStay was wonderfully helpful with all questions.
The house feels like a large but cozy home from an earlier time. It accommodated our party of 6 and easily could have handled 4 couples. It is not a perfect place. Most of the portable A/C units for the four large rooms worked very well. A couple had tubes that at first wobbled and fell out, but once we enlisted the help of a chair and a pillow stayed in place without fail. One went on and off in a manner that would bother a light sleeper, but if you have a "noise" app, no prob. The bathrooms were exquisite--GREAT showers! Grill worked great (extra tank provided). Fire pit made for a wonderful evening. The location was a block away from main street, with restaurants, a bakery, etc. A short drive from "The Big Y," the local big grocery store. Not too far from the center of the Berksires. Avanti gave timely when I gave a holler. Internet has 5G network called "Avantstay-5G." It's perfect if you're working remotely (avoid the slowpoke "AS Secure" network!).
