Explore Group Homes in Smoky MountainsNo splitting across hotel rooms. No coordinating check-ins at separate properties. One home, one experience, your whole group together from arrival to check-out.
Square footage is the starting point, not the finish line. Our large group homes are selected for open-plan living areas, outdoor spaces, and amenities — private pools, game rooms, wraparound decks — that make a group trip actually work.
Every AvantStay property is professionally inspected and hotel-clean before you arrive. What you see in the listing is exactly what you get, backed by 24/7 support throughout your stay.
The Great Smoky Mountains draw more visitors than any other US national park, and for good reason. Mist-covered peaks, old-growth forest, and the stretch of mountain towns from Gatlinburg to Pigeon Forge make it a natural gathering point for large groups. Hiking, scenic drives, waterfall chasing, and small-town dining are woven into the landscape. A single large cabin becomes the group's mountain basecamp. Groups choose the Smoky Mountains because the landscape does the work — every day has a natural rhythm (morning hike, lunch break, evening gathering). Staying in one large cabin instead of multiple hotel rooms means families wake up together, cook together, and experience the mountains as a unit.
We stayed at this lovely cabin in March, 2022- three families and 2 dogs. Check in and check out were easy. Was initially difficult to get ahold of the concierge via email to get details. Seems like they have automated responses as I requested info on our location and got details for South Carolina. My initial email requests thru airbnb were unanswered for weeks and I had to reach out multiple times before our trip. This was quite frustrating. Once it was close to our trip- communication was better. The house location was great- very close to Gatlinburg, easy to get to trails. Grocery store about a 10-15 min drive. House is on a hill so windy road, but you need that to get the views. We had plenty of room at the home- everyone had their own bed and ensuite bathrooms. Wifi was spotty but we were able to get that addressed after talking to Avant Stay. We needed a few things in the house and the Avant Stay team quickly delivered them. This is a great home overall and everyone had space to spread out. With multiple floors- the adults and kids had separate spaces. Everyone really enjoyed the 2 hot tubs- there was a strong smell from them- but I guess that is expected from hot tubs. The bears are real! On our first night- a large bear opened car doors and went in one side and out the other. Did this to two cars before we realized it was there and were able to make enough noise to get it away. No damage, but we were lucky. Def lock all car doors and home doors. The beds were super comfortable and the house was very clean. The kitchen was well stocked- even a spice rack. The stove, pans and baking trays were well worn out and could use a new set, but otherwise the kitchen was great. 2 dishwashers were nice to have with a large group. We had multiple meals at home. The house overlooks downtown Gatlinburg so you will see city lights and hear noises- not ideal if you are looking for something rustic (we were not), but great if you want to be near everything.
We recently stayed at this dreamy cabin in the Smoky Mountains with 19 people total. Not only was the house spacious, providing tons of privacy for each couple who came, but it also fit our entire group comfortably for dinner, games, and lounging in all of the public spaces! The men in our group loved the pool table and dart board on the bottom floor. As a group we also brought two gaming systems to use in the common spaces—downstairs we had Mario Cart and Super Smash Brothers going and upstairs in the main living room we played JackBox games (quiplash, etc)
There were TWO hot tubs on the top floor balconies that both the girls and guys spent countless hours in enjoying the views. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, and a spice rack! The only things we brought for group meals were our crockpots and any other specific ingredients needed. We used the refrigerator in the kitchen for food and snacks, and used the refrigerator downstairs for drinks. A huge bonus was that there were TWO dishwashers, which made clean up duty a breeze.
I will say that the road going up to the house was in fact extremely narrow so be sure to take that seriously. Once you get up to the road closer to the house theres only space for one vehicle at a time! The location was absolutely amazing. We were able to see our house from the main street in downtown Gatlinburg, which was literally at the bottom of the hill, and were close to a ton of great attractions. We LOVED our stay!! Everyone is already talking about coming back and staying at this cabin again!
I was very pleased with the condition and location of the property, especially because it was just as the photos depicted! Having 10 identical king bedrooms with bathrooms was perfect. The two other bedrooms with bathrooms had two queen bunkbeds. The beds were very comfortable and sheets and comforters were good quality. The large kitchen was more than adequate for the group. We had three temporarily handicapped people with scooters/walkers so the walk-in front door access was a must as well as three bedrooms on that first level. Additionally, the outdoor porch on that first level allowed the whole family to flow in and out. A couple people used the pool, even though we did not heat it. It was fine. Views are gorgeous! There were no homes blocking our views. There were just a couple negatives: The couches are in ok condition to look at but sitting is another issue! Even for average size person, getting out was a real challenge, almost impossible for the older! The kitchen was well-stocked. Lots of Corelle in good shape. Great hot water. We did have trouble with air conditioning in two of the upstairs bedrooms on the second day of our stay. I notified management and they were willing to come out but we declined the inconvenience. One couple transferred to an empty room and the other used a room air conditioner that was on the premises. Overall, the whole group was very pleased with our stay!
