Square footage is the starting point, not the finish line. Our large group homes are selected for open-plan living areas, outdoor spaces, and amenities — private pools, game rooms, wraparound decks — that make a group trip actually work.
Every AvantStay property is professionally inspected and hotel-clean before you arrive. What you see in the listing is exactly what you get, backed by 24/7 support throughout your stay.
Austin's reputation as a group destination comes from its dining scene, nightlife, and cultural attractions. Large groups come for the urban energy and Sixth Street and Lady Bird Lake, all within reach of a single home base. Rather than hotel rooms scattered across different blocks, one large home keeps everyone together and connected. Groups prefer staying in one home in Austin over booking multiple hotel rooms because they stay connected, cook together, share common spaces, and often cut nightly costs in half. That single home becomes the heart of the trip rather than just a place to sleep.
This property is one of the best that we have ever stayed at! We would definitely stay here again. First of all, it is exactly as pictured. Our family group consisted of 10 adults and 2 young children. There was ample space so that we never felt that we were crowding anyone. The movie room was perfectly set up with recliners for all of us, and honestly, if half of our group wasn't from out of town, we probably would have spent more time in it. What really worked so well for our group, being mainly adults, were all the en-suite bathrooms. The house is nicely appointed, with stylish furnishings and comfortable beds and seating areas. One night we enjoyed s'mores by the large fire pit/table, which had enough space for all of us on the surrounding outdoor sofa and chairs. It was nice staying in a very clean, large newer house. Also, I don't always mention management companies in my reviews, but AvantStay deserves to be mentioned. We were happy to discover that they manage this property. They have managed other properties that we have stayed at, and we know the importance of renting from a good responsive management company. We didn't experience any real need to contact them, but for the simple questions we had they were very quick to respond. Their communication prior to our stay was also outstanding.
Our group was three 50-ish women looking for a weekend spot. Austin was perfect and this Avanstay VRBO fit the bill. the property isn't large - but big enough. The main bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom was a murphy bed (I'd guess full size). The full bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and a half bath near the entry - it was nice to have a 1/2 bath. Plenty of linens, dishes, etc. It was nice to have outdoor space, though it was small. There was one chair and a side table - a second chair would block the door. The rooftop pool was great with outstanding views! We had a few questions but texted and called to get answers - very responsive! There were no mirrors or towel hooks in the bedrooms so we had to improvise on that. Next time, I'd bring a small extension cord just to get outlets where you need them. The area was easily walkable with a small grocery, restaurants, music, etc. all nearby. The area was a young area but we didn't feel uncomfortable being a little older. People all around so no issues with safety, especially in a group of three.
I booked El Dorado Estate to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, and it was absolutely perfect! The home is exceptionally clean, cozy, and full of charm. The casitas are darling, and the guest house is perfectly positioned on the property for both privacy and connection. Everyone had their own quiet space to retreat to, yet we could all come together easily for large family dinners. Our mother fell in love with the sunroom—she spent most of her time there, relaxing with a book and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. I worried the cowboy pool might be too small for the 3 kids in our group, but it turned out to be just right for them to splash and play. The yard was a lovely mix of soft turf and shady oak trees—ideal for escaping the Texas heat. The kitchen was a chef’s dream, fully stocked with everything we needed for large family meals. My only complaint? The photos don’t do justice to the magic like the butterflies and hummingbirds that greeted me each morning while having coffee.
