Rawhide Ranch sits in the high desert near Pioneertown, a Western town built as a 1940s movie set where the storefronts along Mane Street still stand. The home is a private single-family place on open land, with mountains on the horizon and a big shaded backyard. Mornings are slow and quiet here. By evening, most guests end up in the hot tub watching the sky turn pink over the hills.
Inside, the style is rustic ranch. The living room has cowhide rugs, leather seating, wood accents, and a big TV for movie nights after a day on the trails. The kitchen has stainless appliances and warm terracotta walls. The dining table sits right beside it, looking out at the trees, so whoever is cooking is never cut off from the group.
There are three bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with a queen, and one with a log-style full bunk bed that kids will race to claim. The backyard is where you'll spend most of your time. A large old shade tree covers the main lounge area, with sectional seating and picnic tables for long meals outside. There are hanging chairs for reading, loungers for sunning, and a BBQ grill on the patio next to a second dining set. The yard is fully fenced, so the kids can run around while the adults relax. After dark, the hot tub and the desert sky take over. With so little light around, the stargazing is excellent.
When you want to head out, Pioneertown is right nearby. Walk Mane Street, catch live music and BBQ at Pappy & Harriet's, or hike the boulder-lined trails of the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve. Yucca Valley's cafés, vintage shops, and grocery stores are a short drive down the hill, and Joshua Tree National Park is close enough for a sunrise hike and a lazy afternoon back at the ranch.
