The ridge does the talking here. Ridge View sits right on the edge of it, and the Smokies open up unobstructed from two large decks --- one off the main level, one below --- with a hot tub positioned to make the most of it. Mornings up here come in layers of blue.
The backyard is built for a crowd. A timber pavilion covers a long table with room for everyone, and there's a grill, a cornhole set and lighting strung overhead for the hours after dark. It's the part of the property that turns a big group into one group.
Inside, the main living area runs tall and bright: pitched ceilings, exposed beams, a fireplace at the center of it and windows doing most of the decorating. The kitchen is fully modern and set up for real cooking, which matters at this size. Downstairs, the rec room has a pool table, its own kitchenette so nobody's hauling drinks up and down, and a door straight onto the lower deck.
Eight bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom. That's the detail that makes a house this large actually work --- everyone gets a door to close and a bathroom of their own, and mornings don't turn into a queue.
Pigeon Forge is about fifteen minutes down the mountain, with mini-golf, arcades and the kind of family attractions that fill an afternoon without much planning. Dollywood sits on the same side of town. Gatlinburg is roughly half an hour on, and past it the national park proper --- Cades Cove, Newfound Gap, and the road up to Kuwohi, the highest point in Tennessee, where the observation tower turns 360 degrees over the whole range.
Then you come back, and the view is still there.
