In the Smoky Mountains, the summers are very warm and long while winters are cold but short. At any time of year, there's something fun to do outside!
Fly into McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee (a 45-minute drive to the Smokies) or Asheville Regional Airport in North Carolina (an hour drive away to the park) depending on which side of the park you're headed to. If you're driving, the Smokies are easy to nagivate by car. Gatlinburg also offers trolley service that will pick you up or drop you off at more than 100 different locations around the area, including Dollywood and the national park itself. For fares and routes, check out the trolley's website.
