In the kitchen, warm wood accents and sculptural lighting soften the clean lines, and bar seating keeps the cook in the middle of things.
Sleeping is simple, with a king bed in all three bedrooms. The primary has an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, and like the other two king bedrooms, it opens straight to the backyard through sliding glass doors. Step out at sunrise and the pool is right there.
The backyard is the main event. The private pool sits beside a covered patio for the hottest part of the day, and the heated spa is complimentary for when the desert air turns cool. The pickleball court keeps the group busy between swims, and a six-burner propane grill makes cooking outside the obvious call. After sunset, everyone drifts to the propane fire pit in the gravel courtyard while the stars come out in numbers you won't see at home.
Downtown Joshua Tree is about five minutes away, with cafes, galleries, vintage shops, and live music, and the park's West Entrance is roughly 15 minutes off. Plan a morning of hiking among the boulders and Joshua trees, then come back for an afternoon by the pool. Yucca Valley is just to the west for groceries and errands, and Pioneertown makes an easy evening drive. Whatever the plan, Cielo Vista is a comfortable place to come back to.
