The Blackwood A-Frame is a luxury three-bedroom cabin built in 2026 and tucked into a quiet corner of Big Bear Lake. It's just a three-minute drive to Snow Summit and six minutes to Big Bear Marina---close to everything, while still feeling peaceful and surrounded by pines.
Inside, you get all the good A-frame features: 36 feet of soaring wood ceilings, huge windows, forest views, and plenty of space to spread out. The windows have motorized blinds, so you can welcome the morning light---or keep it out---with the push of a button. The living room has a deep sectional made for post-ski lounging, movie nights, or relaxing by the fireplace.
The kitchen is built for people who genuinely like to cook. It's stocked almost entirely with Crate & Barrel kitchenware and features a 12-foot island, double ovens, a wine fridge, a KitchenAid stand mixer, and enough room for everyone to gather without crowding whoever is making dinner. There's also a record player and record collection for setting the mood, plus board games for when the group gets competitive.
The two main bedrooms have king-size Casper mattresses & pillows and private bathrooms, because a mountain getaway shouldn't come with a bad night's sleep! The third bedroom has a full-size bed, twin bunk beds, an additional twin bed, a retro arcade cabinet, and a projector for movie nights. The home accommodates up to eight guests and includes three full bathrooms, Apple TV in every bedroom, a Samsung washer and dryer, and a Pack 'n Play and high chair available upon request.
The fully fenced yard is made for actually spending time outside. There's a hot tub, fire pit, swing, hammock, outdoor dining area, and a running-water pond tucked among the trees. Have coffee by the pond, disappear into the hammock for an hour, or end the night in the hot tub under the pines.
Bringing an electric car? There's an EV charger right out front.
Location is the other half of the appeal. Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are both a short drive, close enough that you can be on the first chair without an alpine start, and back in the hot tub by mid-afternoon. When the snow melts, the same address puts you near Big Bear Lake and the marina for boating, paddling, and long lazy afternoons on the water, plus hiking and mountain-biking trails, the Alpine Zoo, and the restaurants and shops of Big Bear Village. It's the rare mountain house that works just as well in July as it does in January --- bring the group, claim the yard, and stay a few days longer than you planned.
