The closest major airport to Lake Arrowhead is Ontario International Airport (ONT), which is about 22 miles away. If you're traveling from Los Angeles the 81 mile trip will take approximately 2 hours via I-10 and 1-210. Because Lake Arrowhead is nestled up in the mountains of San Bernadino, you're going to want your own set of wheels. If you're staying near the village, however, you might be able to get around on foot. A trolley serves the area during summer, but we'd suggest you plan on using a car.
