Square footage is the starting point, not the finish line. Our large group homes are selected for open-plan living areas, outdoor spaces, and amenities — private pools, game rooms, wraparound decks — that make a group trip actually work.
Every AvantStay property is professionally inspected and hotel-clean before you arrive. What you see in the listing is exactly what you get, backed by 24/7 support throughout your stay.
The Outer Banks offer something rare: wide, uncrowded beaches with genuine space. Wild horses roam the barrier islands. Cape Hatteras National Seashore provides dramatic, isolated coastline. The fishing is legendary. Small beach towns keep it low-key. For groups wanting a beach destination that doesn't feel crowded or overdeveloped, the Outer Banks deliver. Groups stay in large Outer Banks oceanfront homes because the beach here is genuinely spacious — your group's stretch of sand doesn't feel overrun. One large home becomes a private beach retreat. The nightly cost for multiple families splitting one large oceanfront house beats hotel blocks significantly.

10 college friends chose to stay at Atlantic Watch for our annual reunion. We liked the amount of space that allowed each of us to have our own bedroom and bathroom,The common area was great for us to spend time together.
We loved our vacation and the house was perfect for our big group. However, the pool heater was not working and it wasn't fixed until the last full day of our vacation. My family was looking forward to playing in the game room but the shuffleboard table did not have the sand necessary for play and the ball was missing from the foosball table. I also notified AvantStay separately that the house decking rails are in need of attention.
