Visiting Big Bear during winter, from December to March, is perfect for snow lovers. It is a snowy wonderland where the ski and snowboard season is in full swing during this time, and the cozy cabin vibes are unmatched.
Our tip is to book early—this is Big Bear’s busiest time and houses rent out fast! Plus pack tire chains (they’re required by law during storms).
🌸 Spring (April to May)
Spring at Big Bear brings fresh mountain air, quieter trails, fewer crowds, and crisp mornings. It’s ideal for a peaceful solo mountain escape or a couples retreat. If you are looking for a calming and serene visit, try going during this time.
This is the best time to find deals on lodging before summer rates return. Our other tip is to bring layers of clothes as mornings and evenings here are still a bit chilly.
